Music can be incredibly powerful and transformative to our lives. In 1997, I got to see U2 live for the first time, and I’ve never been the same since. Witnessing 75,000 strangers singing, dancing, and crying together, was truly a spiritual experience on a huge scale. Music, done right, really can change people’s lives, and even change the world. Music events such as Live Aid, Live 8, and artist such as U2, Coldplay, Juanes and Shakira, have used their celebrity to better the world, and help better the lives of those in need in our world. Personally, music became a huge part of my life the day I saw that U2 concert, and I feel that if it weren’t for the emotional chord it touched, I might not have had the courage or insight to be who I am today.
